Press release QuiX, 12th December 2021
Quix Quantum, the market leader in quantum photonic processors, will deliver a photonic quantum computing solution to the newly established Hungarian Quantum Information National Laboratory initiative. This device represents the fifth quantum photonic processor to leave the QuiX plant. “Quix Quantum’s systems are becoming the de-facto standard in photonic quantum computing” says Dr. Jelmer Renema, CTO of Quix Quantum.
Last year, QuiX Quantum unveiled the world’s largest quantum photonic processor, at a product presentation last year. Quantum photonic processors are the central component of photonic quantum computers, holding great promises in performing certain computations faster than current supercomputers. Machine learning, chemistry and finance are believed to be revolutionized by such quantum technology.
The device was purchased jointly by the Faculties of Science and of Informatics of the Eötvös Loránd University, and chip represents the first quantum hardware in the CEE region. Eötvös Loránd University intends to use the QuiX chip for academic research into photonic quantum computing.
“We welcome the Hungarian quantum technologies program as customers and look forward to building up our relationship with them.” says Dr. Renema. “We are proud of the fact that there are now QuiX Quantum processors operating in Germany, France, the UK, and now also in Hungary. This shows the continued success of photonics as the leading commercial quantum technology.”
